iOS Application Prototype – 2016

Developed in collaboration with student designers from Massachusetts College of Art & Design, we built an app that was supposed to be a collaborative beat-making game.

The idea was to use the Apple Multipeer Connectivity Framework as the networking foundation for people who are congregating together to interact with one another. Here's how the design worked:

  1. Person A and Person B opens boop beep on their iPhone.
  2. Person A connects to Person B within the app.
  3. With their apps connected, one of them can start a beat.
  4. Person A starts a drum kick and on a 16 beat 4/4 cycle, chooses when the drum kick should be actuated.
  5. The beat starts playing automatically, as the 16 beat cycle never stops.
  6. Person B can select another musical sample to play at whatever interval on the 16 beat cycle they would like.
  7. Now that both people have a beat playing from their respective devices, they can choose whether they want the sound to come out of each other's phones instead of their own.
  8. Voilà! They're making goofy music!
